Wednesday 2nd March Photographs

This is a selection of photographs that were taken on Wednesday 2nd March.

For this selection of images I have used the Jessie J image as inspiration. To improve these photographs i would like to have had less wind blowing when i was taking the photographs as the models hair blows to one side making the image look at an angle. I believe that the first photograph is the strongest and i am planning to use it as one of the main images for my magazine.

Tuesday 1st March Photographs

This is a selection of the photograhs that were taken on Tuesday 1st March.

This is a selection of photos where I have used the Taylor Swift image as inspiration. The lighting in the photographs could be improved by the sun being out, however the lighting in all of the photographs are still qutie good as i have natural light. I believe that the last photograph is the strongest however i do not like the background as it is on houses. I am planning on using the third photograph in my magazine and I am going to crop it.

Photo Inspiration



This is the first photo that i am going to be using for inspiration for my photos. This photo could be representing the love side of the story as it is very girly, and Taylor swift is known for wearing very girly clothes and she also does not have heavy make up and this is what i am going to be doing for one section of my photographs.

This is the second photograph that i am going to be using for inspiration. These style of photographs could be used in the heartbreak side of the article as she is wearing black clothes and also i like how the photogrpah is taken against a black background.

Colour Scheme Ideas

BLACK/WHITE/RED
This colour scheme follows that of typical music magazines. Therefore i have decided not to use this colour scheme as my music magazine is not a rock magazine, where this colour scheme is generally found and it is also not original.

BLACK/WHITE/PURPLE
This is the colour scheme that i am planning on using for the whole of my magazine as it still follows the traditional colour scheme of music magazines, however it has a different element that has not been used before with the purple and this gives my magazine an original element.

RED/WHITE/YELLOW
I have not seen this colour scheme used in any magazine and i am also not going to be using it as i do not think that they white would stand out against the yellow background.

RED/WHITE/BLUE
This colour scheme would have been my second option to use as it is traditional county colours as they are the colours that appear on the British flag. However i am not going to be using this font as there would be a chance that it would not appeal to anyone that would but my magazine who is not British and this would mean less copies of the magazine would be sold.

Story Ideas

From the analysis that I have done, the double page spread stories in magazines can be easily separated into two different categories.

One) Question and answer articles-These are articles where the artists simply answer questions on their lives and what they do for a living. This type of article would make my magazine sell more copies as most people in the target audience for my magazine would be interested in celebrity gossip. This type of article can simply be written as questions and answers, or can be as a whole article with the questions and answers included within paragraphs of other information.

Two) Informative articles-These articles are when the magazine has not been able to do an interview with a person, so would simply describe the story that they are doing and use quotes that the artist would have previously made.

As I the double page spread is the main article of my magazine I am going to be using the question and answer type article for my magazine.

Magazine articles ain to inform and entertain readers. There are many different subjects that the article could be about. I have thought of five possible subjects.

One) New album out.

Two) Love, Heartbreak and her double platinum life.

Three) New band that have reformed.

I have decided to do the majority of my article on option two, as I think that this would be the one that would attract the reader’s attention the most, however I have also decided to use the new album as part of my article.

Fonts For Masthead

I have picked 14 fonts off of the website www.dafont.com that I think would aid my magazine. The font and what it would look like as the masthead is in the first row, and the name of the font for example ‘Calibri’ is in the second. The third column I have labelled my opinion, where I have looked at the font and written down the first thing that I think of. By doing this, I am acting as a random member of the public who is looking at the masthead of the magazine for the first time and mimicking their thoughts. For the fourth row I have asked twenty people to mark their favourite three fonts, these people were all aware that ‘Impact’ will be a chart music magazine, and all people were the age of my target audience. Finally the fifth column is to show the results of the tally chart.
